Have you ever worked out how much it really costs you to produce your company newsletters, brochures and flyers in house? Even editing letters to go out to your clients can cost much more than you think. If you
charge your time by the hour, which most of us do, monitor the time it

Some time ago I asked two chartered accountants how long it took them to prepare a general letter to go out to their clients. When we multiplied the time by their charge-out rate, that one letter cost over $700! I could have edited that letter for them at a fraction of the cost. It takes time to produce any worthwhile piece of text, whether it be for a newsletter, client letter, brochure, flyer or for your web site. You wouldn't fix the plumbing yourself, or get stuck into rewiring the office, so why spend hours at a keyboard, putting words together?
