We all like to think that we communicate in plain English, but how often do you find that you haven't said what you thought you said? Every letter, brochure or web page must be perfectly clear to the reader. There is no other way to get your message across quickly and effectively. It is all
to easy to use terminology or jargon that is quite clear to you but
totally unintelligible to your clients or customers. You only have to
look at the real estate or motor vehicle advertisements in the paper to
find terms and abbreviations that are completely clear to anyone in the
industry, but totally confusing to the casual reader.
If you write to a prospective client using terminology that is unique to your trade or profession, it is unlikely that the client will ever be anything but prospective. To convince prospective clients that your services are what they need, you must get your message across in clear, easily understood English. For professionally written letters, newsletters, brochures, flyers or text for your web site, call me on 08 9279 9599 or 0419 849 835. |
