Since the previous issue of my newsletter I have been published in the USA.

I have had a story published in Vintage Motorsport, the leading magazine of historic motor racing in the USA.

It is the story of the Warrior Bristol, a sports car built, regardless of cost, in the UK in 1954 to compete in the 2-litre sports car class. It made its way to Singapore, where it was raced, modified and had its Bristol engine replaced by a bigger Jaguar unit.

Brought to Australia by a servicemen, it was rescued by RAAF officer Ian Boughton, who brought the sad remains with him to Western Australia, where he restored it.

Since then the Warrior has had several owners, the current custodian being a San Jose, California attorney, Jack Perkins, who has raced the car at four Moterey Historics meetings and has every intention of racing it as often as he can.

For more of the story, you'll have to buy a copy of Vintage Motorsport, March-April 2005, which will be in selected newsagents soon.
