One of the great things about my job is the enormous variety of people, companies and story subjects I enjoy.

The book at the top right of this page is an example. I received a vast amount of information about trams in Western Australia to enable me to produce the text of the book. In the same way, I acquired a huge quantity of information about ship-building techniques of 400 years ago and the early history of the Dutch East India Company when I prepared the text of a book about the Duyfken replica built at Fremantle a few years ago. Click on the picture to see more about the books I have worked on – and there is another book on the way.

My newsletter work puts me in touch with tomato growers, gold miners, property developers, manufacturers of a wide range of items, accountants and even inventors. There is something new with every newsletter. I have written or edited stories about the hazards of working in the Super Pit in Kalgoorlie, the perils of GST, the wholesale fruit and vegetable business, the problems of installing air conditioning in a heritage building and much more. I even interviewed Captain Paul, who flies the traffic patrol over Perth in his Cessna.

While producing programmes for the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA classic car events, I spoke to several legends of WA motor sport and met many of the dedicated enthusiasts who keep the historic racing car movement alive in this state.

Historic racing cars also featured in magazine articles I have had published in Australia and overseas, although other articles described the Duyfken Replica, a number of classic buses, travelling in the South West of WA and even the sale and transportation of race horses. I have also written a series of articles for a motor racing web site describing the Grand Prix races of 50 years ago.

As if that variety were not enough, I have recently been approached by a manufacturer of academic regalia and a person in the automobile service business who wishes to create a guide book for novice car buyers.

If there is a message in all of the above, it is that, whatever your business or interests, I can help you to write about it. Give me a call and help me to broaden the variety of my writing.
